Unicorn Crossing

Unicorn Crossing Another Phoebe and her unicorn adventure
by Dana Simpson

Characters: Phoebe is the main girl in the book
The Unicorn’s name is Marigold
Max is the boy she likes but she hasn’t said that yet. I can just tell.
Dakota is the girl who picks on Phoebe in this book.

Plot: Part of the plot is that they go camping, Marigold didn’t like camping and Phoebe was annoyed how Marigold was always humming. This part of the book is where they both have to figure out how to deal with each other’s problems and learn to compromise.

Another part of the book is where Marigold has to leave for a few days and Phoebe has unicorn withdrawal.

“I hope you will be alright without me for a few days”
“ I survived for 9 whole years before I knew you, I could make it a few more days”
“Until I return, farewell”

Then I really like when Phoebe goes through the different stages of Unicorn withdrawal.

Stage 1: Denial
Stage 2: Anger
Stage 3: Bargaining
Stage 4: Depression
& Stage 5: Acceptance (or possibly we weren’t quite past denial)

My opinion: This book is whatever beyond the word loved is. It was amazing!

My favorite part was when she was writing in her diary because she was writing about how much she missed the unicorn. Like when she wrote “it’s weird how you can get used to someone even the annoying stuff. … She must NEVER KNOW!”

I learned that when you have friends, they can be tough but you have to learn to get along with them.

I would recommend this to everyone! I gave it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We thought this would be a good way to share all of our bookish thoughts. Feel free to leave yours as well! I Opened a Book By Julia Donaldson I opened a book and in I strode. Now nobody can find me. I’ve left my chair, my house, my road, My town and my world behind me. I’m wearing the cloak, I’ve slipped on the ring, I’ve swallowed the magic potion. I’ve fought with a dragon, dined with a king And dived in a bottomless ocean. I opened a book and made some friends. I shared their tears and laughter And followed their road with its bumps and bends To the happily ever after. I finished my book and out I came. The cloak can no longer hide me. My chair and my house are just the same, But I have a book inside me.
